HARDANGER – fruit flowering in spring, idyllic fjord villages and beautiful scenery.
For centuries, travellers have been thrilled with Hardanger´s spectacular nature, glaciers, and grand waterfalls. The region’s tourist travel had its significant breakthrough in the 1800s when the regularly scheduled steamships started.

More about Hardanger in the new article on my website which you will find under Western Norway in the menu:

In the Scenic Route articles, I have included the main attractions in the areas, such as the national parks, waterfalls, fjord villages, historic buildings, especially historic hotels, and some of the main activities and attractions such as Trolltungen(“Troll tongue”).
I have included some byways, places off the route itself, which are worth a visit.
