The Norwegian Scenic Routes attraction comprises 18 drives through beautiful Norwegian scenery. These routes are meant to bring you closer to nature in a new and surprising way.

The routes take you along the coast and across mountains in the northern, western, and central parts of Norway. On each road, you’ll see several groundbreaking sites – breathtaking viewpoints, art installations, and resting areas with artistic, modern toilets.

It is The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) which is responsible for developing Norwegian Scenic Routes as a Scenic Route Section. To ensure high visual quality of scenic viewpoints and picnic areas along the routes, the NPRA has attached an Architecture Council. Members of the Architecture Council include an architect, a landscape architect, and a visual artist. An art curator has also been appointed to ensure that internationally valuable works of art are part of the Norwegian Scenic Route experience.

I have already visited 8 of these scenic routes and I am starting with Jæren and Ryfylke with is closest to my home town Stavanger.
In this summer/autumn I will complete 8 more, and eventually, I will present them all here on this site. – Showing them in my own way with my own photos and information along the route.
